Philanthropy & Fundraising Coordinator for International Permaculture Convergence - India

Role: Philanthropy & Fund Raising Coordinator

Will design and implement overall plan for promoting the event, expanding support base and mobilizing resources (including funds) for the event - International Permaculture Conference and Convergence

Academic qualifications and work experience:

  • At least two years of experience in promoting environmental or social causes and raising funds and other resources for the same
  • Post-graduate degree in relevant field for e.g. Communications, Fundraising, Ecology, Social Work or Marketing
  • Familiarity with or past experience in the ecology or farming thematic areas will be preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Enthusiasm and commitment towards ecological conservation and social justice
  • Ability to promote awareness and motivate people to support a cause
  • Ability to follow up appropriately and encourage contributions for the cause
  • Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written - to develop creative, persuasive, concise and articulate content to expand support base and encourage contributions of various kinds
  • Excellent information research, database management and other IT skills
  • Networking, relationship building and maintenance
  • Proficiency in English is mandatory. Skills in Hindi and Telugu will be added advantage.
  • Ability to conduct presentations and other verbal communications effectively
  • Interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Ability to recruit volunteers for resource mobilization and to guide and coordinate their efforts
  • Ability to take self-initiative, to be organized, to ensure that tasks are completed in a timely and resource-efficient manner
  • Integrity in fund-raising is priority i.e. attention towards authenticity of information disseminated, transparency in fundraising operations, responsiveness towards donors, accounting and the like.

Duties:

  • Draw up a plan for resource mobilization based on appropriate study of the possible sources. Prepare fundraising strategy in alignment with permaculture ethics.
  • Develop suitable content and tools (presentations, mailers etc.) for expanding support base and fund-raising
  • Assist the Communications Executive in including fund raising pitches in promotional materials, social media and the like
  • Develop and deliver the crowd-funding campaign for the event
  • Organize suitable events for generating awareness about the event and expand avenues for receiving support, including financial support
  • Develop proposals for potential donors and sponsors, scout for and follow up with potential donors and sponsors
  • Donor servicing i.e. ensuring they are happy with their donation scheme and are kept well informed of progress and success
  • Ensure that agreements made with sponsors are executed satisfactorily
  • Provide timely response to queries related to donations and sponsorships
  • Enlist support of volunteers in resource mobilization, train, assist and motivate them for the same
  • Maintain proper databases and records of contributors, contributions and deliverables for the same
  • Ensure compliance with relevant national laws and rules related to fund-raising
  • Plan and execute the Exhibitions-cum-Sale stalls component at the event

Remuneration:

Remuneration will be mutually decided based on qualifications and experience of the candidate. It will be useful if the candidate can mention their remuneration expectation in the application.
