Starhawk is the author or coauthor of thirteen books, including the classics The Spiral Dance, her visionary novel The Fifth Sacred Thing and its sequel, City of Refuge and her book on ‘social permaculture’: The Empowerment Manual: A Guide for Collaborative Groups. She wrote and co-directed the documentary Permaculture: The Growing Edge, and travels internationally, lecturing and teaching. She did her PDC with Penny Livingston-Stark in 1997 and holds a double diploma in teaching and design from the Permaculture Institute of North America.
